The role of Defence Section (DS) Translator is to provide a coordination, translation and interpretation service to the British Embassy Brasilia Defence Section. The DS Translator must be bilingual in English and Portuguese, able to exercise absolute discretion, and comfortable with engaging effectively at all levels. The successful candidate will be highly organised and possess the initiative and drive to get things done with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be a member of a small busy team. Therefore, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others are essential qualities. The successful candidate should be prepared to work flexibly, often outside normal hours and occasionally at weekends. Furthermore, the successful candidate should also be prepared to travel, with occasional nights away from home.
